CASTE BASED RESERVATION- PHASE II

‘HINDI MEDIUM’  one of the best movie of 2017 so far depicting the true nature of Delhi's High class society towards Reservations.
‘Measuring merit, without equal schooling is incorrect’.

In Central Government funded higher education institutions,  22.5% seats are reserved for SC and ST which has now been proudly raised to 49.5% by welcoming 27% reservation for OBC’s.

Constitution prohibits the untouchability and promotes equality and this obligates to make special provision for their  betterment. Primary objective being the enhancement of the underprivileged communities and thus improve their lives. Or rather we have mistaken it. Reservations are protection against war of casteism. No definition of  the underprivileged has anything to do only with lower caste. It can so happen with open category, rather the deserved one having no sufficient source of income and a dire need of better education qualification. Who in the end has to fight first against the 50% reserved categories and then against the best coaching classes which they cannot afford. In other way, Jains although a minority are not  socially backward in india, many excel in various parameters.

Where on one side, IAS turns out to be the top most and most rewarded Examinations which actually has to be on merit but these categories of reservation make them tough nut to crack to those who cannot beat it by lesser margin. Be it Best law colleges, or IIT’s. This is a well discussed topic while taking CAT as well, but after that, everything becomes a matter of how well you perform.

She is from SC category, cutoff for SC was 94, had she been from general category, she would have not been able to write mains. Ankit Srivastav scored more than her in all aspects.

With no offence to the lower caste categories, some people take undue advantage of these reservations and without hurting the sentiments, manipulations in India is not a rocket science. Its a well understood fact and denying it is just ignorance of a loophole in the education system.

Many people argue for income based reservation. It would make little sense to replace caste based reservation with income based reservation. Well with that lookout, even an income based reservation system shall be subject matter of dispute. And Question arises, whether there should be any reservation or not? Quality education is itself a matter of question, if its not received by the lower caste people it might not be received by open category as well. When education is not bifurcated based on caste then, why there is reservation to get the same education.  Reservation and quality education are two different things dealing with same emotions.

Families already enjoying reservation for 2-3 generations, who are wealthy enough to provide quality education, shouldn’t they be exempted from this reservation? again a matter of litigation.

In its Sixth Ambedkar memorial lecture, 2016, PM Narendra Modi said ‘ Reservation is a right nobody can snatch’. Lets see how the reservations get 'MODIfied'.

India might need caste based reservation, but with no doubt present system needs some solid modifications to make sure the right people are benefited from it.

CASTE BASED RESERVATION PHASE I

ऊंच नीच  ज़ात कुछ कोणी होवे है
काली गोरी गाए को  दूध  एक्सो होवे  है !!!

Freedom is a gift of democracy and our constitution has gifted it to us ‘We the people’. Well said, US has developed Economy far more better than Indian Economy because they hire the deserved one’s and Indians hire Reserved one’s. In the country where our constitution says that India is a secular state . Secularity, equality and integrity are the basis on which we have our strong preamble. World look at us as the strongest and youngest human resource with good number of them working in medical and technological field. India has lessened its human resource strength by limiting its outrage by the reservation, where india believe that it has given daily bread to the weaker section of the society however, harsh fact is that bread has been taken away from the open category and handed over to the reserved category.

Also known as positive discrimination, it is intended to favour historically disadvantaged castes and tribes. The basic objective is to enhance the social and educational status  of underprivileged communities with an aim of improving their lives.

Once Stepping stone for india before independence has now become one of the major roadblocks which has the effects as good as termites have in the woods. It is not only making the entire education system hallow but also limiting the scope of economic and financial growth.

Well deserved open category have to pay lakhs and the one belonging to the lower caste will reap the fruits with both, Reserved seats and lowers fees.

Reservation is dividing the society leading to discrimination and conflicts creating disparity and differences amongst the people. Fundamental right also has this one out of seven rights which states that every child shall have right to education. Yes, they do have with obviously pinch of reservation.

Gone were the days where the lower caste people had no money to survive and take  good education, however they had enough amount of talent  which couldn’t be left unrecognised. To remove castiesm and to bring them at Par with upper class people, reservation system came into picture. Reservations were made with an intention to bring equality however it left behind fundamental principle of justice. Equality is not justice.

Entire story of reservation can be understood from the diagram laid below

From the above picture its clear that Population belonging to open category comprises of 75% and seats available to them gets divided with a share of 51% and remaining 49% belongs to the reseverd category. Apart from this reservation hustle and bustle, private colleges have started their own reservation criteria which is further more disappointing. Unecessary increase in the competition without quality and custom being improved at the same pace is what is making students loose faith in the education system.
